About SKUAST: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), named after great patriotic leader Jenab Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah (popularly known as Sher-e-Kashmir) was established in the year 1982 through an Act passed by the State Legislature in the 33rd year of the Republic of India with its jurisdiction over the entire State of Jammu & Kashmir with its headquarter at Shalimar, Srinagar. With the SKUAST Act in force, the agricultural education, research and extension training units were transferred to SKUAST from various development departments viz; Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry and Sericulture of Jammu & Kashmir State.

Pay Scale: 37400-67000 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10000 plus Special Pay of Rs.400/-

Designation: Dean

Pay Scale: 37400-67000 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs. 10000

Designation: Professor/Chief Scientist
Number of Openings: 03 Posts
Pay Scale: Rs. 37,400-67,000 with Academic Grade Pay of Rs.10,000

Designation: Associate Professor/Sr. Scientist
Number of Openings: 03 posts
Pay Scale: Rs.12000-18300

Designation: Assistant Professor/Junior Scientist and equivalent
Number of Openings: 11 posts
Pay Scale: Rs.15600-39100 grade pay Rs.6000
Age: Not less than 20 years and more than 55 years as on 01-01-2009, Upper age limit relaxable in case of persons already in employment of the SKUAST-K, and for the post of Officer/Professor and equivalent.

Nature of appointment: Temporary with two years probation extendable as prescribed under rules.

In-service candidates: The in-service eligible candidates should forward their application forms through their employer. The application forms, which are not routed through proper channel, shall be summarily rejected and no correspondence and/or enquiry thereon entertained. In case of selection of in-service candidates, their services shall be regulated in accordance with the statutory provisions as are in vogue or as may come into force from time to time.
